Joseph LAU WAN PUI (Chairman)
B.Sc., MBA, MCIC, MCIM

Joseph, a founding partner of Rockhound, specializes in business incubation, special investment projects as well as partnering of clients. He has extensive experience in the financing of mining projects but began his career as a research chemist in the chemical and pharmaceutical sector in Canada from 1976-1982.

From 1982-1984 Joseph worked as a Food and Drug Analyst and subsequently became Vice President (1990) with an international investment banking firm. In 1994, he was transferred to Hong Kong to head the Greater China Direct Investment Fund, and since then he has served in senior executive positions in various industries including: Financial services; Seapower International Holding Limited (Stock # 240) – Executive Director, Head of Asset Management and Head of Corporate Finance. Telecom; First Telecom/KPN Telecom, Netherlands – Executive Director, GM. Retail Jewellery; Tse Sui Luen Jewellery (International) Limited (Stock # 417) – Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer. Construction Management; WLS Holdings Limited (Stock # 8021– Executive Director and CEO. He sat on the HK-EMBA program Advisory Board of the Telfar School of Management of the University of Ottawa (Canada) from 1997-2003 and from 2012-2015 he is Dean’s Advisory Board Member. He is currently a director of Auxico Resources Canada Inc (#AUAG) which is actively pursuing the exploration and production of minerals from high grade ores.

Paul FOWLER (Managing Director)
MBA, MSc. C.Geol, CEng, FGS, FIQ, FIMMM, MHKIE, RPE

Paul is a Chartered Geologist & Chartered Engineer who began his career in mineral exploration in Southern Africa for Gold Fields. He subsequently worked as an engineering geologist in East Africa and then with Ove Arup, one of the world’s leading engineering consultancies in the Middle East, Europe and Asia.

In 1996 Paul left Arup to become GM of a Joint venture in charge of one of the largest hard rock quarry operations in SE Asia. He subsequently became GM responsible for Planning and Development in Hong Kong ListCo K.Wah Construction Materials Limited, a role which took him to other parts of Asia-Pacific.

Since 2004 he has successfully run his own consultancy business and was a founder of a private junior exploring for gold and base metals in Madagascar. With Rockhound, of which he is also a founding partner, he has undertaken due diligence and provided technical and geological support for ListCos and private companies operating in Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Philippines. Projects have ranged from gold, base metals, iron ore and mineral sands to dimension stone, quarry products and industrial minerals. He meets the requirements of a Competent Person under the JORC Code in a number of areas and has been the Qualified Person for two dimension stone project listed on the SGX. He also provides expert support and expert witness testimony relating to litigation and was involved in two multimillion dollar legal claims.

Dominic KOT
MAusIMM, FGS, MCIM, MCF, BASc (Geological Engineering)

Dominic graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Geological Engineering (Geophysics Option) from the University of British Columbia. He has over ten years’ experience in the mining and exploration sector dealing with various mineral projects. He also holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance.

Starting out as a field operator conducting geophysical surveys in Canada, he subsequently joined a Hong Kong private company and worked on an iron-titanium mineral project in Inner Mongolia, PRC. This project was eventually sold to a Hong Kong ListCo. Subsequently Dominic was involved in exploration and mining for lateritic nickel and placer gold mineral projects in the Philippines.

He is currently a Geologist at Rockhound Limited and has responsibilities as a team member for a diverse range of projects across Asia carrying out due diligence, providing financial analysis and advising clients on project development. His projects have covered precious metals, base metals, industrial and energy minerals including business development. He was co-author of technical reports to meet JORC reporting requirements on dimension stone on two projects for listings on the SGX.

He is also a director for Rockhound Assets Management Limited enhancing the value of client’s mineral properties.

Consultants & Field Geologists

Michael James Allen
BSc. Hon (Geology), MSc. (Information Systems Management), MIMMM

Mike has over 35 years of experience as a geological and mining consultant, working in the Far East, North and Central America and Europe. He has wide experience in industrial minerals, metals and coal. Industrial minerals included silica glass sands and feldspars, dimension stone, refractory minerals, clays, phosphates and aggregates. Metals included inter alia iron, vanadium-titanium-magnetite, lithium, manganese, tin and tungsten plus gold/silver.

He is able to bring his expertise to advise on potential exploration targets and related exploration programmes with the aim to produce JORC and NI 43-101 standard technical reports.

He has also served as a director in private and listed companies bringing commercial insight to projects worldwide.

T. Chan
BSc (Hons), CFA, ACCA, CPA (Canada), CGA

Mr Chan graduated with a degree in Chemistry. He subsequently moved into finance and is now a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA Canada, CGA).

H. Tang

Miss Tang graduated in the United Kingdom with an LLB and then obtained a Master of Law from the Chinese University of Hong Kong focusing particularly on Chinese Business Law.
